It’s Time To File Form 2290 – Heavy Highway Vehicle Use Tax Return

Taxpayers that have a taxable highway motor vehicle registered in their name must file an IRS Form 2290. 

For vehicles placed in service July 1, 2016 or earlier, the due date to file the return is August 31, 2016

The IRS is no longer sending out reminders and the penalties for late payment are significant.  Here are a few points to consider when filing Form 2290:

Employer's Annual Federal Tax Return Available For Liability Under $1000

How Has Michigan's Tipped Employee Minimum Hourly Wage Changed?

Michigan’s minimum wage increased on January 1, 2016 to $8.50 per hour for workers 18 years or older, and to $3.23 per hour for tipped employees.  This increase is part of Public Act 138, the Workforce Opportunity Wage Act, passed May 27, 2014, which gradually increases Michigan’s minimum wage to $9.25 per hour in 2018.
