About Middleville, Michigan:

Located in the Thornapple River Valley, the Village of Middleville is located southeast of the greater Grand Rapids metropolitan area. Settled in 1834 along the Thornapple River, companies like French's Flouring Mills and Cold Springs Creamery brought renown to the Village. Once a midpoint on the "Good Intent" stagecoach line, the Village adopted the stagecoach as a logo as a link to their past. Middleville is honored to be the first Trail Town in Michigan with the North Country Trail Association. During the Civil war the railroad connected Middleville to the rest of the country, but with the discontinuance of rail service to the area the rail bed was developed into the Paul Henry - Thornapple Trail that the North Country National Scenic Trail shares.
