Sandy Pearson is an experienced business development professional with a BA in Business and Economics from Michigan State University. Sandy joined BHT&D to continue her passion for economic empowerment for all by supporting individuals and businesses of the firm. Sandy is the Past President and CEO of Habitat for Humanity of Michigan and stepped down upon celebrating a 30-year career in affordable housing finance, financial empowerment of individuals, and small business operational excellence. During her tenure with Habitat for Humanity, she was on the founding board of two successful start-up companies unique to Habitat for Humanity - The Habitat for Humanity Michigan Fund, now known as Affiliate Mortgage Services, which provides mortgage services in seventeen states; and Fair Lending Services which provides credit counseling and small dollar loans to clients as an alternative to payday loans.
Sandy is a lifelong resident of Portland. She and her husband, Rob, have been married 29 years and have three daughters, a son-in-law, and a granddaughter. Their daughters are 5th generation graduates of St. Patrick Parish School, and 3rd generation MSU students/graduates. Sandy's current board service includes being a board member of Sparrow Health System after having served six years on the Sparrow Ionia hospital board.
