Can I File Michigan Sales Use and Withholding Tax Online?

Work Outside! The MTO (Michigan Treasury Online) is a new service available for filing and paying the SUW taxes.

The State of Michigan recently sent out a letter titled: “New Online Registration and Sales Use and Withholding Tax Services”.

Filing and paying the SUW on-line through the MTO is not required.  However, taxpayers will have to sign up online in order to print out their booklet and their license – the booklet will no longer be mailed to the taxpayers.  The booklet also informs the taxpayer how often they are required to file and pay their taxes, monthly/quarterly/annually.  Please follow the guidelines below:

If your annual tax due is less than $750 you would file annually.
If your annual tax due is between $750 and $3,600 you would file quarterly.
If your annual tax due is over $3,600 you would file monthly.

If taxpayers want to file and pay their SUW through the MTO for 2015, they should get registered and set up by 12/1/14.
